MapLink Pro is developed as a collection of Software Development Kits (SDKs) that provide a modular software integration approach to embedding mapping and visualization capability in specialized systems. This component-based approach enables developers to incorporate just the functionality that is required for them, providing a simplified, cost-effective solution for delivering GEOINT exploitation to their users.
High Performance Visualization
MapLink Pro features a high performance drawing surface which utilizes OpenGL (2.1 minimum, 3.2 or newer recommended) to render background imagery and vector data, as well as complex geometry and symbology overlays. OpenGL is a high performance, open, vendor-neutral, multiplatform graphics standard. MapLink Pro provides the highest performance for demanding operational environments.
Cross Platform Support
MapLink Pro is cross-platform: as well as being available on Microsoft Windows, a number of the SDKs are supported on Linux and Android. Other platforms can be supported on request, and versions compatible with HP-UX, VxWorks, and Solaris have previously been delivered. This flexibility lowers development costs and enables future reuse of code.
As a result, MapLink Pro supports a wide range of development environments, in particular several versions Microsoft Visual Studio, ensuring that MapLink Pro can be comfortably and productively situated into many preferred or legacy systems.
MapLink Pro supports hundreds of vector, raster, and terrain data formats including defense domain formats, such as Jeppesen, CADRG, DAFIF, S-57 Encrypted, S-52, and APP6A. These can be both local to the device or via an open web service such as OGC WMS.
MapLink Pro provides a number of ways to manage and process your map data, including live or pre-processed. Pre-processing data allows more control over the map content, including styling, layering, tiling, masking, and clipping. These options improve map display performance, limit processing power needed, and, most importantly, allow the presentation of clear and relevant data to the user for the current zoom level.
Pre-processing also allows multiple, disparate GEOINT data types to be integrated together seamlessly into a cohesive “map of the world.”
Live data ingestion supports web-based delivery of background geospatial data, as well as localized consumption of collected or exchanged data assets. Additionally, the low level flexibility of the SDK-based architecture facilitates systems integration and portrayal of live overlay data feeds from common track and object server implementations, including HLA and DIS.
